Auto Tech Northland Ltd (previously known as Whangarei Instruments) is a locally owned and operated automotive and marine electrical business started in the 1980’s.

 

In 1993 Whangarei Instruments was purchased by Rick Manley, who at that time had 10 years experience in the automotive industry as an Advanced Trade Certificate qualified Automotive Technician. After a crash course on instrument servicing, he spent the next 3 years servicing instruments and cables and carrying out some electrical work.

In 1996 the business was moved to James Street, where auto electrical and air conditioning were added to the list of available services. Business continued to grow and the company went from being a one man band to a busy workshop with 7 full time staff.

2006 brought with it a name change. Whangarei Instruments became Auto Tech Northland Ltd – a name that better represented the more complete automotive approach the company now had.

In 2010 the business was relocated once more to where it is now situated in Herekino Street, Whangarei. Auto Tech Northland now has a team of 12, servicing many aspects of the automotive and marine industry with a committed focus on servicing automotive electronics and control systems
