Auto Tech in Whangarei is a locally owned and operated automotive and marine electrical business that started back in the 1980’s. In 1993, the business was purchased by Rick Manley, who then had 10 years’ experience in the automotive industry as an Advanced Trade Certificate- qualified Automotive Technician.
The business has relocated a few times and had a name change in 2006, from Whangarei Instruments to Auto Tech Ltd, as it better represented the complete automotive approach of the business. Since then, Auto Tech has continued to grow and thrive, to a busy and trusted all-round automotive workshop with a staff of 14.
Situated in Herekino Street, Whangarei, Auto Tech services many aspects of the automotive and marine industry. The team has a committed focus on providing a top quality service for automotive electronics and control systems. Owner/operator Rick has brought together a true A Team, which is why Auto Tech is now recognised as the preferred and most trusted auto electrical provider in Whangarei.

Keeping up with automotive electronic systems is what we are good at! Each year, thousands of dollars are spent on training, equipment, and learning. It allows us to stay up to date with the ever-changing electronic control systems that the various car and RV manufacturers install into their new vehicles.
We have 14 different diagnostic scanners including Snap-On, Autoland, Autoboss, Launch, DEC Auto, Autel, Tech 2 and Auto Logic. Our technicians can reprogramme all electronic systems on these vehicles, from software updates to diagnostics. We’re here to do a top job, as that’s what our valued customers deserve.
